Carol Ann Neitderhisar, 78, of rural North Liberty, died Tuesday, Feb. 13, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 20, at Grace United Methodist Church in Tiffin, with burial to follow at Babcock Cemetery, rural North Liberty. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Gay & Ciha Funeral and Cremation Service in Iowa City. Memorial donations can be made in her memory to Grace United Methodist Church or the Ladies Auxiliary of the Oxford American Legion. Carol Ann Stagg was born Oct. 12, 1939, in Springdale, Iowa, the daughter of Ray and Lura (Hartsock) Stagg. She graduated from Solon High School in 1958. She was united in marriage to Daryl Neitderhisar on June 4, 1960, at First United Methodist Church in Iowa City. The couple farmed together near North Liberty after their marriage. They were partners in every sense of the word. Carol Ann enjoyed much in life family, neighbors, bowling, travel, her legion auxiliary work and friends, and activities with the Johnson County Pork Producers. A special time in her life was helping to raise a couple of special nephews, Steve and Kenneth Stagg, who lived with Carol and Daryl for a year.
Her family includes her husband, Daryl; and siblings, Margaret Seebeck, Tipton, Kathleen Murray, Berryville, Ark., Donald Stagg (friend, Marilyn), Cedar Rapids, Leslie Stagg, Nisswa, Minn., Mattie Lou (Gordon) Lewis, Lynnville, Iowa, and Wayne (Nancy) Stagg, Iowa City.
Carol Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Lura and Ray Stagg; and siblings, Elsie Sword, Ruth Beranek, Keith Stagg, Billy Stagg, Howard Stagg, Marilyn Rouner and Kay Blink.
Carol Ann's family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to all the very compassionate and sincere caregivers in the Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City. No words ever will be able to describe our gratitude.
