William (Bill) Harris, 84, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 7, at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Visitation for Bill will be held at 12:30 p.m. the day of the service.
Bill was born on Jan. 2, 1931, in Calmar, Iowa, to Ray and Mary Harris. On Sept. 21, 1957, he married Edna Tucker and they had five children. Bill worked for Cargill as a prep operator before retiring in 1994. Bill was a corporal in the Army during the Korean War and received three Bronze Stars.
Bill is survived by his wife, Edna; sons, Thomas Harris, Larry (Mindy) Harris and Gary (Sue) Harris; daughters, Barb (Lary) Dickerson and Kathryn Walker; six grandchildren, Tanya (Lucas) Lemburg, Mike (Cara) Harris, Kent Walker, Matt Dickerson, Stephanie Dickerson and Chance Harris; and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Roy, Herman, Clarence and Arthur.
