SUSAN LANDAS
Manlius, N.Y.
Susan M. Landas (nee Rasmussen), 58, of Manlius, N.Y., passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on July 30, 2015. She was born and raised in Austin, Minn., the daughter of the late Harlan D. and Lucille C. Rasmussen.
Sue had a deep faith and belief in service and through the years offered this to the communities she lived in from Austin, Minn., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and for the past 22 years to the greater Manlius/Syracuse, N.Y., community. She most recently was the owner, along with her daughter, Andrea, of Nothing New Antique Shop, a communicant of St. Ann's Church and president of the F-M Community Outreach.
Family was so very important to her and they loved her dearly for who she was and what she represented to all of them. Sue is survived by Steve, her beloved husband and best friend of 28 years; along with their children, Brett Dvorak, Andrea Dvorak, Sarah (Ben) Tucker and Stephanie Landas; and her beloved siblings who always had a special place in her heart, Peggy Ongna, Karen Sunderman, David Rasmussen and Amy Hameister. Sue was a proud grandmother of Hannah and Lola Tucker, who lit up her heart and brought out her amazing smile. Sue is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Patricia Ahrens.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. at St. Ann's Church, 104 Academy St., Manlius, N.Y. The funeral Mass also will be offered at St. Ann's Church on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at 7 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the F-M Community Outreach, P.O. Box 626, Manlius, NY 13104 or Golisano Children's Hospital, Pediatric Blood & Cancer Center, 750 East Adams St., Syracuse, NY 13210, Attn: Alyssa's Fund. Both organizations were very important to Sue.
She will always be loved and cherished.
