Taylor, Doris A. 'Tucker'
Doris A. "Tucker" Taylor, 74, of Olin, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2009, at Jones Regional Medical Center in Anamosa. A celebration of her life will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Olin United Methodist Church, with Pastor Pat Slater officiating. Burial will be in Olin Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. today at Lahey Funeral Home in Olin.
Doris A. Scott was born June 2, 1935, in Baldwin, Iowa, the daughter of Harold and Doris (Stickley) Scott. She graduated from Baldwin High School in 1953 and then attended cosmetology college. She married Joseph Clifford Taylor on Aug. 11, 1956, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua. He died July 1, 1993. Doris was a homemaker and cared for her family. In earlier years she had operated a hair shop in Olin. She was a member of the Olin United Methodist Church, Legion Auxiliary, and was a den mother for Troop 64 of Olin.
She is survived by her children, Don Taylor of Iowa City, Gary (Deb) Taylor of Anamosa, Tracy Marek of Anamosa, Mike (Mindy) Taylor of Monticello and Roxanne (Dennis) Kula of Anamosa; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandson; and one sister, Donna (John E.) Clark of Baldwin.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, four sisters and one brother.
