The Federal Emergency Management Agency has committed $4.6 million to pay for repairs at the Linn County Courthouse, the last of the county buildings damaged in the flood that hadn't been approved for FEMA repair money.
FEMA has committed $24.5 million to repair county buildings. That money is being held by the state.
“This is the type of money that we don't receive it until we spend it,” said Steve Estenson, the county's risk manager. “Once we get invoices for the work performed, we submit the invoices to the state, and the state gives us the money.”
