Luster, Chris L.
Chris L. Luster, 53, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., died Friday, Dec. 2, 2011, as the result of injuries suffered in an automobile accident.
He was born March 5, 1958, in Waukon, Iowa, the son of Harland and Constance (Richards) Luster. Chris worked for the state of Wisconsin as a building inspector for the past 25 years. He married Cynthia Larson on Nov. 9, 1991, at St. Ann's/St. Joseph's Church in Harpers Ferry.
Chris was an avid Wisconsin Badger and NASCAR fan. He was an active member of the Jaycees and belonged to the Harpers Ferry Volunteer Fire Department.
He is survived by his wife, Cynthia of Prairie du Chien; a daughter, Bethany (Kyle) Reed of Prairie du Chien; two sons, Christopher (Kendra) Gossman of Monona and Maxwell Luster of Prairie du Chien; his mother, Constance Luster of Harpers Ferry; his sisters, Laura (Bob) Lacina of Brooklyn, Iowa, Susan (Steve) Weipert of Marquette, Sandra (Randy) Williams of Monona and Anita Garin of Tiffin; a brother, William Luster of Harpers Ferry; along with his grandchildren, Payton and Preston.
He was preceded in death by his father, and a sister-in-law, Karen Luster.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 6, at St. Ann's/St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry, with the Rev. John Moser officiating. Interment will be in Paint Rock Cemetery, Harpers Ferry. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until time of services Tuesday at St. Ann's/St. Joseph's Church Hall in Harpers Ferry.
The Garrity Funeral Home of Prairie du Chien is assisting the family.
