Jones, Marjorie
Marjorie Jones, 86, of Edgewood, died at the Edgewood Convalescent Home on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012.
She was born Dec. 22, 1925, in Dubuque, the daughter of Phillip and Gertrude (Smock) Ingles. Marjorie was raised and educated in the area, attending rural schools there. On Dec. 1, 1942, Marjorie was united in marriage to Don Jones in Manchester. Together they farmed most of their life near Wood Center. They retired to Edgewood in 1992. Marjorie has made her home in the Edgewood Convalescent Home the past two years.
Marjorie enjoyed her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cooking for everyone, especially family Sunday dinners, and holiday dinners, and taking care of others.
Survivors include her five children, Gerald “Sam” (Jeanette) Jones of Edgewood, Gary (Donna) Jones of Edgewood, Judy (Mike) Bailey of Marion, Kathy (Gary) Clapham of Dyersville and Janet (Jay) Degenford of Edgewood; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, plus one on the way; two sisters, Norma Harry of McGregor and Betty Kramer of Strawberry Point; and special friends, Norma Sauerbry and Lawrence Moser, both of Edgewood, and Arnetha Marting of Clayton Center.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don on June 3, 2007; two sisters and three brothers.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 2, at the United Methodist Church in Edgewood. Pastor Mike Jacksonwill officiate. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, at Leonard-Muller Funeral Home in Edgewood and one hour before services at the church on Tuesday. Interment: Edgewood City Cemetery.
