Moser, Dale L.
Dale L. Moser, 72, of 3505 English Glen Ave., Marion, died of cancer, Monday, August 23, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2010, at First Presbyterian Church, Marion, by the Rev. Howard Chapman. The family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, and one hour before the service Friday at the church. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Dale was born Feb. 16, 1938, the son of Joe and Harriett “Hattie” (Baskerville) Moser in Delaware County, Iowa. He graduated from Springville High School in 1955. Dale married Joyce Armstrong on June 14, 1959. They were married 44 years. Dale was a regional supervisor at Hy-Vee, retiring after 36 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Dawn (Bill) Gerlich of Marion; and a son, Jay (Amber) Moser of LeClaire, Iowa.
He has four grandchildren, Jenny and Kelly Gerlich and Levi and Erin Moser. Also surviving is his mother-in-law, Lucille McVey of Marion.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce, who died Sept. 25, 2003; and three brothers, Glenn, Dean and Jack; and a sister, Gloria Vanourny.
Memorials may be made to the Linn County Cancer Society or the First Presbyterian Church in Dale's memory.
