Cedar Rapids
Teresa C. Moser, 92, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, went to be with our Lord on Thursday, Dec. 27, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.
Visitation: 9:30 to 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 31, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church, Central City. Funeral Mass: 11 a.m. on Monday, at the church conducted by Father Nick March. Graveside service: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2019, at Bethel Cemetery, Osterdock, Iowa. Arrangements by Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Central City.
Teresa was born the 10th child of Mathias and Catherine (Harashe) Adams on May 1, 1926, in Buena Vista, Iowa. She married Virgil K. Moser on June 5, 1944, in Guttenberg. Virgil and Teresa farmed in the Osterdock, Colesburg and Coggon areas. Teresa was a co-owner of the Stop & Shop grocery store in Prairieburg until she began teaching at St. Joseph's School in Prairieburg. In 1968, the Moser family moved to Cedar Rapids where Teresa taught at All Saints School, worked at Eagle Grocery Store, nurtured children at the YWCA, and seized every opportunity to enjoy her growing family, especially her grandchildren. She and Virgil often hosted family and friends at their cabin near the Mississippi River until Virgil's death in 1995. Teresa deeply loved her family, enjoyed gardening, playing cards, cooking, and was a faithful friend to so many.
Survivors include her children, Kurt (Joyce) Moser, Alice (Don) Smith and Mark (Elaine) Moser; grandchildren, Marty (Lisa), Rob (Janan), Chad (Amy), Gina (Stephen), Andy (Michelle), Matt (Anne) and Sara; great-grandchildren, Maddy, Michael, Lydia, Kate, Meg, Lucy, Sloane, Duncan, Theo, Cora and Josie; a brother, Clarence Adams; sisters-in-law, Gayle Moser and Maureen Moser; as well as many nieces and nephews.
The staff at Meadowview Memory Care became another family for Teresa. They treated her with great respect and loving care. Her family gratefully acknowledges their compassion.
Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer's Association at 317 Seventh Ave. SE 402, Cedar Rapids, IA, 52401 or a charity of the donor's choice in honor of Teresa.
