$5,000 grand prize in light recipe contest

ROSEMONT, ILL. -To highlight the relaunch of CorningWare® SimplyLite® glass bakeware, the CorningWare brand is sponsoring a national recipe contest inviting consumers to submit original low-fat, low-calorie “lite” baking recipes.

The recipe contest runs through Dec. 31, with judging to take place in early January when New Year's weight-loss resolutions are at full throttle.

The winner of the Grand Prize receives $5,000. Five runners-up will be awarded 10-piece sets of CorningWare SimplyLite bakeware.

The contest calls for non-professional home cooks, ages 18 and over, to submit an original baking recipe, sweet or savory, that must quality as “lite,” with ingredients that are low in fat and calories. Recipes can be made in CorningWare SimplyLite baking dishes or any pan the contestant chooses. The recipes can be for 1.5-qt., 2-qt., 2.5-qt. or 3-qt. baking dishes or pans.

To participate, contestants should visit http://www.corningware.com to check eligibility and to read and agree to the Official Rules which will then provide access to the registration page.

 The winning recipes will be chosen by a panel of cooking and baking experts at a bake-off at New York's Institute of Culinary Education in January 2010.
