Thillen, Charles J.
Charles J. Thillen, 85, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, April 21, 2010, at St. Luke's Hospital. A Memorial graveside service will be 11:30 a.m. Thursday, April 29, at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in the Resthaven section. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Charlie is survived by his sisters, Bernice Holmes and Dolores Wiedersberg, both of Cedar Rapids; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law.
Charles John Thillen was born Jan. 21, 1925, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Lawrence and Lillian Esther (Elsbury) Thillen. He followed his father in working for the Rock Island Railroad, retiring after 35 years of service.
