Peggy Ann Sissel, 82, of DeWitt, formerly of Tipton, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2015, at the Clarissa C. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 2, at Fry Funeral Home in
Tipton. The Rev. Richard Smith will officiate. Burial will follow at Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, Feb. 1, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
A memorial has been established in Peggy's honor.

Peggy, the daughter of Alfred C. and Laura L. (Christian) Williams, was born May 17, 1932, in Cedar County, Iowa. Peggy attended school in Tipton, graduating from high school in 1950. On Sept. 23, 1951, Peggy married the love of her life, George E. Sissel, in Rochester, Iowa. They were married for 63 years.
Over Peggy's life, she worked at Wilsons in Cedar Rapids, the Recorder's Office at the Cedar County Courthouse, and the Tipton Community School's Superintendent's Office.
Peggy was an avid golfer, bowler, quilter and reader. She also loved spending her winters in Texas.
Peggy is survived by her husband, George of DeWitt; daughter, Robin (Ron) Braddock of Tipton; sons, Kirk (Cindy) Sissel of Tipton, Mark (Pam Coss) Sissel of Nashville, Tenn., and Clint (Leann) Sissel of Davenport; sister, Maralee Dotson of Atalissa; brothers, Dennis (Wilma) Williams of Lisbon, Delbert (Laurel) Williams of Cedar Rapids, Richard (Donna) Williams of Wildwood, Mo., and Warren "Howdy" Williams of Rochester; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; three grandsons, Joshua Sissel, Brandon Sissel and Sgt. Aaron Sissel; brother, Allan Williams; and brother-in-law, Duane Dotson.
