John L. "Jack" Fraseur, 89, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Mercy Iowa City on Saturday, Aug. 1, 2015. Visitation for Jack will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Tipton's First United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Tipton Senior Dining Center or a charity of your choice in Jack's honor.

Jack, a lifelong resident of Tipton, Iowa, was born Dec. 11, 1925, the son of George L. and Elizabeth (Lee) Fraseur. He had one brother, George, and one sister, Joan (Overholser). Jack graduated from Tipton High School, class of 1943. He attended Central College in Pella for two years. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. On June 15, 1950, Jack married Leona (Lee) Geerdes of Wellsburg. Together, they had three sons, Randy, Brent and David; and one daughter, Amy.
Jack was a member of the Tipton Masonic Lodge and the First United Methodist Church in Tipton. Jack loved automobiles. He won numerous awards at car shows with the Fraseur "Woody Wagon." Jack was a John Deere and GMC dealer in Tipton for 20 years. He was a lifelong Cedar County farmer and local businessman. Jack was known for his work ethic, community involvement and his kind heart. Family was of utmost importance to Jack. He was the true patriarch of the Fraseur family, always involved with the kids and grandkids activities. He was a beloved husband, father and grandparent.
He is survived by his wife, Lee; son, David (Alicia) Fraseur of West Lafayette, Ind.; daughter, Amy Fraseur of Hopkins, Minn.; sister, Joan Overholser of Fishers, Ind.; and grandchildren, Christine Boeve, Andrea Summers and J.R. Skola, Brandon and Vanessa Fraseur, Julia and Joseph Fraseur and Grace Nelsen.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents; sons, Randy and Brent Fraseur; and brother, George Fraseur.
Jack will be sorely missed.
He contributed greatly to the Cedar County Historical Society, proudly donating and preserving the Benjamin Fraseur log cabin on the Cedar County Historical Society Museum grounds.
