Paul, Forrest LaVerne
Funeral services for Forrest LaVerne Paul, 85, of Tipton, who died Tuesday, Nov. 29, 2011, will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at the Tipton Masonic Cemetery, with the Rev. Ron Lashmit officiating. Visitation will be held Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home in Tipton.
Forrest LaVerne Paul, son of Russell Edward and Dorothy Marie Vietmeyer Paul, was born July 21, 1926, in Lanark, Ill. Forrest graduated from Lanark High School in 1944 and Iowa State University in 1949 where he received his Bachelor of Science degree. He served in the United States Army National Guard. On July 26, 1952, Forrest was united in marriage to Dorothy Maye Wright in Nashua, Iowa. He owned and operated the Tipton Gambles Store, taught vocational agriculture in Mount Vernon, and was a past member of the Tipton Chamber of Commerce.
Forrest is survived by daughters, Kathleen (Fred) Steffen of Bettendorf, Karen (Dan) Mizner of Moline, Ill., and Jean (Paul) Bailey of Davenport; sons, David (Debra) Paul of Iowa City, Robert (Rhonda) Paul of Tipton, Richard (Laura) Paul of Peoria, Ill., Kenneth Paul of Tipton and Alan (Jill) Paul of Ankeny; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and wife, Dorothy in 1992.
