Adams, Irene Marie

Irene Marie Adams, 88, of Tipton, died Friday, March 16, 2012, at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, March 19, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Tipton. Burial will be in Tipton Masonic Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 3 to 5 p.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton.

Irene was born Sept. 12, 1923, in Muscatine, Iowa, to Charles R. and Mary (Kraus) Tisor. She was a member of the Muscatine High School class of 1941. Irene was united in marriage to John “Bud” Adams on April 17, 1948, at Zion Lutheran Church in Muscatine.

Irene was a homemaker and worked at Webers Button Factory in Muscatine for several years and was a member of AARP-Plus 60, and the Tipton VFW Auxiliary.

Irene is survived by her neighbors and caregivers, the Danny Laing family of Tipton; her nieces, Charlene Thumm of Tipton and Jennifer Zahradnek of Iowa City; and several great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Bud, in 1986.
