Waunita Shirley Wentzel, 85, of Tipton, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 12, 2016, at Crestview Nursing Home, West Branch. Funeral services for Waunita will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Tipton United Methodist Church. Before the funeral service there will be a time of visitation from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will commence at Tipton Masonic Cemetery, with a luncheon to immediately follow at the church.
Memorials in Waunita's honor may be directed to Tipton United Methodist Kitchen Fund, Cystic Fibrosis and Crestview Care Center.

Waunita was born Sept. 24, 1931, in Sunbury, Iowa, to Clyde and Florence (Schweitzberger) Pace. She attended and graduated from Tipton High School, Class of 1950. Waunita completed beauty school college in Cedar Rapids. She was united in marriage to Harold Everett Wentzel and made Tipton their home, where they raised their four children: Marcia, Bruce, Keith and Karen.
Waunita owned and operated her own beauty salon in Tipton for 40 years before retiring. She was a member of Women of the Moose and BPW.
Surviving Waunita are her children, Marcia (Roger) Easterling of Crescent City, Fla., Bruce Harold Wentzel of Tipton, Keith (Mary) Wentzel of Rock Hill, S.C., and Karen Wentzel of West Branch; sister, Delores Creque of Tipton; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren and one on the way.
Preceding Waunita were here parents; husband; sister, Verlee; and three brothers, Weldon, Kenneth and "Buddy" Pace.
