Robert William Peck, 79, of Tipton, passed away peacefully at his home Thursday, April 7, 2016. Service details are as follows: Visitation will be Sunday, April 10, from 2 to 5 p.m. at Tipton Fire Station. Funeral service is on Monday, April 11, at 10:30 a.m. at Fry Funeral Home, Tipton. Graveside service will commence at Tipton Masonic Cemetery, with a luncheon immediately following served at the Tipton VFW.

Bob was born Nov. 23, 1936, in Cedar County, at Bob Chapman's home in rural Tipton to Charles and Maurine (Chapman) Peck. He graduated from Tipton High School with the class of 1955. Bob served in the Marines from 1956 to 1959. He married Darlene Schlesselman on Aug. 13, 1961. He was an electrical contractor, volunteer fireman, Tipton fire chief for 13 years and also served on the city council. Bob enjoyed bowling, fishing, gardening and watching football and NASCAR.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Darlene; their two daughters, Tami (Dave) Peck of Bettendorf and Terri Peck of O'Fallon, Mo.; sister, Sandra Sturdy of Tipton; four brothers, Richard (Maureen), Tom, Don (Sue) and Ed; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Dennis; sister, Judy; and brother-in-law, Keith Sturdy.
