JOHN PETER STOLL
Cascade
John Peter Stoll, 58, of Fitchburg, Wis., formerly of Cascade, died Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, as a result of a work related accident in Madison, Wis. Friends and relatives may call from 2 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Knights of Columbus building in Cascade. Funeral arrangements are being made by the Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade. A celebration of life service for John Peter will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, at the Knights of Columbus with the Rev. Douglas Loecke presiding.
John Peter was born Nov. 14, 1956, in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Loras and Dola (Till) Stoll. In 1975, he graduated from Monticello High School. John Peter enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country from 1975 to 1979 and was honorably discharged. He attended Iowa State University and graduated in 1983. On July 18, 2003, he was united in marriage to Tamra Verrett in Madison, Wis. John was a member of Local Ironworker's Union 383.
A charming man with a larger than life personality has suddenly been taken away from us. John Peter Stoll was truly a "jack of all trades" and master of many. He was a dedicated family man, a sportsman, a musician, a craftsman, a cook, a landscaper, a "shade tree mechanic," a businessman, a leader, a loyal friend and a kind-hearted neighbor. It would be very difficult to find a harder working American. His tremendous work ethic and attention to detail was evident in each project he undertook. Whether he was performing his duties as a skilled ironworker or completing home improvement projects around the house, his attention to detail was meticulous. So, it is with great sadness we try to comprehend how such a special man lost his life on Feb. 20, 2015, doing the work he loved.
John is survived by his wife, Tamra; stepdaughter, Anya; grandsons, Corvieair and Arhyus; a granddaughter due in June; brothers, Pat, Jim, Ed, Tom, Bob, Alan and Jeff; and sisters, Jane, Lois, Julie and Ruth.
John will also be deeply missed by adoring aunts, uncles, countless nieces, nephews, cousins, loving in-laws, faithful friends, co-workers and rambunctious pets, Cindy Lou, Rambo, Thomas and Bunn.
John was preceded in death by his parents; his niece, Rebecca Stoll; and godson, Josh Steger.
