Use Iowa’s rich soil for planting food

To the editor:
For many months, I have read the pros and cons of the Rock Island Clean Line.
I do not have land that the line could go through, but I believe everyone should care about the earth's resources. I also believe the difference between Russia and the United States is the freedom of speech and property rights (eminent domain).
I attended a meeting in January concerning the Rock Island Clean Line. A TV channel was covering the event and asked me if I would speak for the camera.
My concern is that in the year 2050 the world population will be 9 billion people who will need food. God provided Iowa with the richest soil in the world. Use this rich soil for good production and if this line is necessary put it along the road rights of way.
