Darlene Blanche Janko Dean, 80, of Marion, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014. A funeral service celebrating Darlene's life will be 11 a.m. Monday, July 28, at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home, Cedar Rapids. Gary Warner will officiate. Private burial will be in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her husband, Donald Jr. of Marion; sister, Betty Axline of Springville; sister-in-law, Jessel Dean of Marion; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Donnie, in 2006; and sister, Patricia Kriegel.
Darlene Blanche Janko was born Nov. 1, 1933, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Joseph and Blanche (Volesky) Janko. She grad-uated from Marion High School in 1953. On Dec. 31, 1953, she married Donald A. Dean Jr. in Marion. Darlene had worked at Rockwell Collins for 42 years.
She enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and dining out with Junior.
She will be missed by all who loved and knew her.
