Minninger, Marian
Marian Minninger, 89, of Cedar Rapids, died at the Living Center East Care Center, Monday, Jan. 14, 2013. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories by the Rev. Ivan Nienhaus. Interment: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Chapel of Memories.
Survivors include her children, Terri (Hermann) Anton of Columbia, Md., James (Tammie) Minninger of Madison, Ala., Nancy (Ken) Stenerson of Albuquerque, N.M., John Minninger of Ellicott City, Md., Karla Brecke and Karen Davies, both of Cedar Rapids and Charlotte “Pixie” (Dennis) Jones of Brooklyn; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl; and four siblings.
Marian was born April 4, 1923, in Hartford, Ark., to Paul and Marie Lattimer Ferguson. She married Earl Minninger in Abilene, Texas on Oct. 12, 1942. He died in 2001. Marian retired in 1972 from Guaranty Bank. She enjoyed playing bingo and sewing Raggedy Ann and Andy dolls. She was known for her cooking. Marian was a member of the Choctaw Nation, Okla.
Memorials may be sent to the Cedar Valley Humane Society.
