Davies, Alice Madelene

Alice Madelene Davies, 83, of 3724 Sue Lane NW, entered heaven on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at her home surrounded by her family. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Blessed John XXIII by the Rev. Dustin Vu. Burial: St. Joseph Cemetery. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday at Teahen Funeral Home, where friends may visit from 5 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 9:30 until 10:15 a.m. at the church.

Alice is survived by her husband of 64 years, Kenneth; her children, Barbara (Harry) Hill, Linda (Forrest) Zimpleman, Ken Jr., John (Sharon), Judy (Roger) Henley, Roger and Kim (Billy) Hunter; 22 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; five sisters; a brother; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, six siblings, and one great-grandson.

Alice was born Dec. 14, 1928, in Dubuque, the daughter of William and Bertha (Widmar) Becker. She married Kenneth Davies on Oct. 25, 1947, in Dubuque. She retired in 1992 from Square D Credit Union and had previously worked at Square D Co. She was a member of St. Jude Catholic Church and the Brain Injury Association of Iowa.

Alice loved being with her family and enjoyed gardening and playing cards. She will be dearly missed by those who knew her.
