Williamsburg man charged in death of child
A Williamsburg man is being held on a first-degree murder charge of killing an 'unrelated child,” authorities said Monday evening.
Cody James Stevenson, 29, of 905 North St., had been arrested early Monday on a charge of willfully causing injury. The child died later Monday and the charge was upgraded, according to a statement from Williamsburg Police Chief Ray J. Garringer.
Police did not disclose any details or circumstances of the death.
Garringer said Williamsburg police are working the case in conjunction with the Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation.
