Hiatt, James E.
James E. Hiatt, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, at Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids. Services: 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 16, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home.
Survivors include his son, Michael Hiatt and fiancee Deb Greenwald; and his brother, Richard.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his former wife, Ellen (Madsen) Hiatt; his brother, Max; and his three sisters, Mary, Margaret and Phyllis.
Born Dec. 12, 1929, in Fenton, Iowa, James was the son of Monte and Pearl (Racobs) Hiatt. He graduated from Fenton High School and later moved to Cedar Rapids, where he worked for Cryovac for over 30 years.
Jim loved going to Tama and riding the Kings & Queens Shuttle. He was a member of the Cedar Rapids Bowling Hall of Fame.
