Positive coliform bacteria test temporarily closes Iowa City pool
Mar. 17, 2011 1:30 pm
The Mercer Park pool in Iowa City will be closed temporarily to allow city officials to conduct super-chlorination after a positive test for coliform bacteria at the pool, city officials said today.
The super-chlorination procedures create unsafe swimming conditions, requiring the pool to close temporarily.
The coliform bacteria was detected as part of a monthly test required at Johnson County municipal pools.
Check the city's website,
www.icgov.org/pr, or call 356-5100 for further updates.
