Charles Wilbur Huff Sr., 78, of Lone Tree, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015, at Mercy Iowa City. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at Sorden-Lewis Home for Funeral and Cremation Services in Lone Tree. Burial will be in the Lone Tree Cemetery. Following committal services at the cemetery, a time of food and fellowship will be held at the Lone Tree American Legion. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 13, at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Lone Tree Fire and Rescue in memory of Wilbur. Sympathy notes may be left for the family at www.lewisfuneral

Charles Wilbur Huff Sr. was born on Feb. 18, 1937, in rural Lone Tree, the son of Roy C. and Pearle E. (Baker) Huff. Wilbur was a 1956 graduate of Lone Tree High School. On Aug. 6, 1960, Wilbur was united in marriage to Patricia L. Hawthorn in Lone Tree. They later divorced. He served in the U.S. Army Reserve from 1960 to 1967, attaining the rank of buck sergeant. Wilbur owned and operated Huff Roofing for many years. He was a member of the Lone Tree Fire Department for 35 years and drove school bus for the Lone Tree Community School for 50 years. Wilbur enjoyed coffee with the boys, driving around Lone Tree in his golf cart and was an avid Hawkeye fan.
Wilbur will be missed by his children, Charles W. Huff Jr. and fiancee, Jill Welter, of Lone Tree and Jeffrey A. Huff and his wife, Diana, of Riverside.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
