#oniowapod — We want you to hold on to that feeling oh ohhh ohhhh, so here’s a podcast

This was the idea of Land of Ten's Scott Dochterman.
He texted early Monday morning and said, 'Hey Sluggo, how about a podcast?' I was still asleep. It's all I do anymore. Sleep, all of the time. Sleep, sleep, sleep.
So, I thought it was a good idea and here you go, bonus #oniowapod.
Scott and I talk about the how of Iowa's 14-13 upset victory over No. 3 Michigan last Saturday night. (It was the defense, defensive line and some Akrum Wadley, who earned a long deserved hug from his head coach and was beaming afterward.)
We talk about what it means. Yes, Iowa is 6-4 (4-3 in the B1G), but, man, did Iowa need that. The players needed it. The coaches needed it. You guys needed it. And, hey, I'm not going to pretend, we needed it. We were starting to sound like broken records. We were starting to drift into 'shock jock' territory. There will be a lot of crusty beat writers out there who say they simply follow the story. To a certain extent, that's the formula. That's what we all do and always will do. But I'm here to tell you, this is a whole lot easier when everyone is happy. Or when everyone isn't itchy with the 'fire everyone.'
We talk about scale. Where does this fit as far as 'greatest' Kinnick moments go? It's up there, man. Up there. I bounce to Wisconsin 2004, when a Big Ten championship trophy was on the field. Scott scaled it even farther and brought up that time you guys tore down the goal posts at the Metrodome. Still, the single greatest achievement in college football rivalry history. I want it to be my 30 for 30 someday. I need to make that happen.
Bottom line, everyone who's interested in Iowa needed that.
And Scott talks some basketball.
Thanks for listening.
