Harreld will make UI better

To the editor:
I totally agree with David Burke's letter 'Rally behind the new UI President Harreld,” on Oct. 7.
Every day the University of Iowa faculty, sour grapes alumni and dissenters try to go backward status quo, the new vivacious president is moving this sacred university forward regardless.
The president of the United States appointed a chief executive officer of a blue chip stock company in Secretary of Department of Veterans Affairs, Robert McDonald.
So, the UI needed new vision and what better way than finding one who is educated combined with proven leadership in the private sector?
The Iowa Board of Regents were academic, thorough and creative to find a gem. President Bruce Harreld has my full support, making us better than yesterday.
