Iowa City to close streets for presidential visit Friday

IOWA CITY -- Iowa City police will shutdown several streets for most of the day Friday to accommodate a visit from President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden and their wives.
Closing at 8:30 am:
-Market and Jefferson Streets, between Clinton and Madison Streets
Closing at 10:30 am:
-Clinton Street, between Jefferson and Washington Streets
-Iowa Avenue, between Dubuque and Clinton Streets
Several University of Iowa buildings will also close Friday through the President's event. Some of the most noteworthy are:
-The Lawn between Jessup Hall and MacBride Hall
-Jessup and MacBride Halls
-Old Capitol Building
-Much of the Pentacrest
The street closures will end when the event concludes around 7:00 p.m.
