Oveson, Mildred A. 'Milly'
Mildred A. “Milly” Wolfe Oveson, 93, of Clinton and formerly of Morrison, Ill., died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at the Alverno Health Care Facility in Clinton. A Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Morrison. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Additional visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the service time Thursday at St. Mary's Church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Spencer and Jonathan Van Roekel, Jack and Dan Manemann, Tim Baker and Payton Cook.
Mildred was born in Anamosa on Aug. 31, 1916, the daughter of John and Lena Northrup Wolfe. She married Harold G. Oveson on Feb. 8, 1942 in Trenton, N.J. Harold died in 2002. Milly was employed as a seamstress at the Clinton Garment Company. She was member of St. Mary's Church, Morrison and the “Why Catholic” group. Milly loved her family more than anything, especially her great-grandchildren. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, gardening and eating chocolate candy.
Milly is survived by two daughters, Paula McKee and Molly (Joe) Manemann both of Morrison; five grandchildren, Spencer, Carri and Jonathan Van Roekel, and Jack and Dan Manemann; eight great-grandchildren, Payton Cook, Aubrey, Emma, Isabella, Benjamin and Joshua Van Roekel, and Emily and Brody Manemann; three step grandchildren, Lante McKee, Lanette Baker and Teresa Tanner; three step great-grandchildren; two step great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Pauline (Jim) Durgin of Clinton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, five sisters, and three brothers.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church, Morrison.
