Haley Sr., Joseph Harrison
Joseph Harrison Haley Sr., 86, of Palo, died Monday, March 4, 2013, at home after a long illness. Services: 10 a.m. Saturday at The Salvation Army, 1000 C Ave. NW, Cedar Rapids, where visitation will start at 9 a.m. Lt. Michael Sjogren will officiate. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home in Cedar Rapids is in charge of arrangements.
Joe was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Marion, Ind., the son of Benjamin and Cora Milford Haley. He married Nadine Marie Wood on Oct. 14, 1978, in Cedar Rapids.
He leaves behind his wife of 34 years, Nadine Haley, his sons; William Haley, Joseph Haley Jr., Kevin Haley, William Cook and Gale Primley; and his daughters, Patty Meyers, Deb Doty, Robin Haley, Sandy Barker and Marilyn Primley.
Joe was a member of The Salvation Army. He loved going to church and was very involved with his faith. He served in the United States Army. He loved animals. Joe enjoyed camping, horse shoes and playing cards. His favorite card game was cribbage.
