Jan. 5, 2012 2:41 pm
CEDAR RAPIDS - Defenseman Ian Brady of the Cedar Rapids RoughRiders is one of 40 players picked to play in the United States Hockey League/National Hockey League Top Prospect Game. The inaugural game is Jan. 24 in Muskegon, Mich.
USHL general manager, NHL scouts and "decision makers," and NHL Central Scouting assisted in compiling rosters. Players are considered to be among the USHL's top eligible players for the 2012 NHL Draft.
Brady is the lone RoughRider selected for the game, though Omaha goaltender Alex Lyon spent part of last season with the club. A Lombard, Ill., resident and Nebraska-Omaha college commit, Brady, 17, has two goals and seven assists in 23 games this season, his second in Cedar Rapids.
Here is the press release from the USHL and the complete list of Top Prospect Game participants.
