Crawley, Mary C.
Mary C. Crawley, 57, of Carrollton, Texas, formerly of Waterloo, Iowa, died in Texas on Jan. 8, 2013. Memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 31, 2013, at the Immanuel Baptist Church, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Inurnment was in the Linwood Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home is in charge of local arrangements.
Mary was born on Jan. 9, 1955, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Leo and Marilyn E. (Immel) Crawley. She graduated from Waterloo West High School in 1973 then studied Criminology at Hawkeye Technical College. Mary was a police officer for the town of Evansdale and was Town Marshall for Raymond, Iowa. She also served as a Dispatcher for the Evansdale Police Department. Mary later became the Operations Manager for Constant Alert security services in Cedar Rapids. She then went to work in the Quality Assurance Department for APAC Telecommunications. In 2005, Mary moved to Texas and worked in the Technical Help area for Infor Communication.
Mary was a member of Brookhaven Baptist Church in Farmers Branch, Texas. She enjoyed playing bridge, reading science fiction books, and collecting souvenirs from her travels overseas.
Mary is survived by her mother, Marilyn Crawley of Cedar Rapids; a brother, James K. (Regli) Crawley, Sr. of Waterloo; two nieces; two nephews; 11 great-nieces and nephews; and one great-great-nephew. She was preceded in death by her father, Leo Crawley.
