Mary G. Jones, 96, of
Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Manor Care Nursing Home, following a short illness. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 31, at the Noel-ridge Christian Church, 7111 C Ave. NE, Cedar Rapids. Friends may call one hour before the service, beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mary G. Jones was born Sept. 18, 1917, in Des Moines, Iowa, the daughter of the Rev. Hugh C. and Bernice Rhea Guy. She was united in marriage to J.U. Jones Jr. on March 28, 1942, in Lancaster, Mo. He preceded her in death in 2000.
Mary worked for Northwestern Bell Company and retired after 28 years of service. She was a member of the Noelridge Christian Church. Mary will be greatly missed.
