Mary Ellen Finnigan, 88, of Cedar Rapids, died Thursday, May 7, 2015, at West Ridge Care Center. According to Mary Ellen's wishes, her body was donated to the University of Iowa Deeded Body Program for medical research. Per Mary Ellen's request, there will be no memorial or funeral service. Teahen Funeral Home is serving the family.
Mary Ellen is survived by two daughters, Kathleen (John) Ransom of Omaha, Neb., and Colleen (David) Doyle of Toddville; and several grandchildren and great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; son, Michael; her parents and two siblings.
Mary Ellen was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Cedar Rapids, the daughter of Herman and Bertha Rothenbuecher Kraus. She married William H. Finnigan Jr. on March 9, 1947, in Cedar Rapids.
