Mary Ellen Kroeger, 84,
of Hiawatha, passed away Saturday, May 13, 2017, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids. At the request of the family, there will be no services. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Mary was born Oct. 25, 1932, in Alburnett, Iowa. She was the daughter of Carl and Harriet (Johnson) Struchen. When she was young, she would always help her mother at the nursing home. On April 7, 1957, Mary married Ken Kroeger Sr. in Marion. She worked as a keypunch operator at Rockwell Collins and at Milwaukee Railroad. Mary also worked at EconoFoods, Ryan Steakhouse, and she enjoyed helping her husband with his AE milk route. She enjoyed bridge club, cooking, bowling and going to the casinos. Most of all, Mary loved her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her husband, Ken Sr.; children, Kenny Jr. of Cedar Rapids, Karen (John) Hachey of Cedar Rapids and Kim (Aaron) Green; two grandchildren, Abigail and Gunner Green; and siblings; Jerry Struchen of Cedar Rapids and Shirley (Denny) Marsh of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a sister.
