Thomas, Mary Pat
Mary Pat Thomas, 81, originally from Boone, Iowa, passed away Monday, April 25, 2011.
Mary was born August 29, 1929, to Gail and Edith Mickle.
Mary married Bud Davis of Boone in 1946, and had two sons and a daughter. In 1964, Mary married Ron Thomas of Cedar Rapids. A job transfer in 1970 moved them to Lakewood, Calif. Ron retired in 1986 and they subsequently moved to Grants Pass, Ore., in 1990.
While in Cedar Rapids, Mary was a waitress at the Shorewood Restaurant. She was a member of many championship women's bowling teams. Her other passions were sewing and macrame, along with the handcrafting of award winning clowns (dolls). These trophies, macrames and figurines will keep her spirit alive, as they will be distributed among friends and family members.
Mary is survived by her husband, Ron; sons, Randy Craig Davis (North Hollywood, Calif.), Michael Davis (Doreen Sanfratello) (Cedar Rapids); a daughter, Rebecca Vanek (Boise, Idaho); plus a sister, Pam Nodolf (Monticello).
Mary is the grandmother of 10 and the great-grandmother of 15, plus the great-great-grandmother of two.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents and five brothers.
