Lukan, Thomas V.
Thomas V. Lukan, 80, of Dyersville, passed away peacefully Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at 4:35 p.m. at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City, surrounded by his loving family. Friends and relatives of Tom may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 17, at Reiff Funeral Home in Dyersville, where a wake service will be held at 5 p.m. and a Legion service at 7 p.m. Services for Tom will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 18, at Basilica of St. Francis Xavier in Dyersville, with the Rev. Noah Diehm officiating. Burial will be held at St. Francis Cemetery in Dyersville, with military honors afforded by Dyersville American Legion Post 137.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Lukan of Dyersville; five children, Tim (Janet) Lukan of Cedar Rapids, Ted (Susan) Lukan of Minneapolis, Patrick (Laura) Lukan of Chicago, Lori (Jeff) Driscoll of Cedar Rapids and Mike (Gina) Lukan of Marion; 10 grandchildren, Matthew, David and Meghan Lukan, Breanna, Lauren and Noah Lukan, Jessica and Ashley Driscoll, Olivia and Madilyn Lukan; five siblings, Mary (Walt) Osterhaus of Independence, Donna (Jack) Ronan of Gardner, Kan., Robert Lukan of Scottsdale, Ariz., Bill Lukan of Great River, N.Y., and Wayne (Bernadine) Lukan of Palos Heights, Ill.; stepbrothers, Jerry and Dale Lukan; and a stepsister, Joanie Ramler.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Father Ken Lukan; a stepsister, Betty; and a sister-in-law, June Lukan.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Beckman Catholic High School.
