Taylor, William F.
William F. Taylor, 79, of 109 Taylor St. E., Cascade, died Saturday, July 24, 2010, at Shady Rest Care Center in Cascade. Services for William will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at St. Martin's Catholic Church, Cascade, with the Rev. Douglas Loecke officiating. Burial will be held in Mount Calvary Cemetery in Cedar Rapids. Friends and relatives of William may call from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at the church. The Reiff Funeral Home, Cascade, is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by two children, Kathy Taylor and Bill Taylor; three siblings, Claire (Bernie) Russell of Cedar Rapids, Robert (Pat) Taylor of Topeka, Kan., and James Taylor of Roland; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister-in-law, Marge Taylor.
William was born May 27, 1931, in Dubuque, Iowa, son of Ervin O. and Rosina (Grobstick) Taylor. He was a graduate of Dowling High School in Des Moines, Iowa. He worked for his father who owned and operated Taylor Floors in Des Moines. He was a member of St. Matthias Parish, Cascade. He served in the Iowa National Guard.
William loved fishing, playing cards, and spending time with his brothers, sister, nieces and nephews, especially his great nephew, Brad.
