Kernels activate Smith, Dorado released

The Cedar Rapids Kernels activated starting pitcher Will Smith from the disabled list after Thursday night's game against Wisconsin. He is expected to pitch in Friday night's game against the Timber Rattlers.
Smith has an 8-3 record and 3.29 earned run average in 15 starts for the Kernels this season.
Relief pitcher Reyes Dorado has been given his unconditional release by the parent Los Angeles Angels. Dorado pitched in four games for Cedar Rapids and had a 24.30 ERA.
