Pass the crime victim’s rights amendment

All of us could become the victim of a crime at anytime. Unfortunately, if you become the victim of a crime in Iowa, your rights are less than the person who committed the crime against you. Legislators must work to correct this problem when they're in Des Moines this year.

Iowa crime victims deserve basic rights outlined in the constitution, right alongside those of the accused. The right to be notified of hearings, the right to restitution or the right to protection from the accused, are common-sense provisions that need to be secured in our state's most sacred document.

We must reach out to our local elected officials and ask them to move forward with a crime victims' rights amendment.
