VERN HORSKY

Vern Horsky, 82, was born in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. He went to be with the Lord on Nov. 27, 2014, in Wichita Falls, Texas.
He was a former member of Sharon E.U.B. Church and served as choir director for 18 years. He was a member of the Harmony Hawks Barbershop Chorus for 20 years.
Vern moved to Iowa Park, Texas, to be part of the startup team for the new Cryovac plant as the materials control manager. He was with Cryovac for 36 years.
After moving to Texas, he became a member of First Baptist Church, an ordained deacon and in the music ministry. He was a member of Builders for Christ and SOWERS, two volunteer groups that built churches throughout the U.S.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother and grandson.
He is survived by his wife, Joan, of Wichita Falls; two daughters, Gail Fuqua of Dallas and Cheryl Mayberry of Wichita Falls; a son, David, of Tooele, Utah; four grandchildren, Randy York, Sarah Snodgrass, Jennifer York and Laura Ortowski; seven great-grandchildren; and five stepgreat-grand-children.
Chapel services will be 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 1, at Dutton Funeral Home Chapel in Iowa Park, Texas.
