OK, listening to the Kirk Ferentz radio show.
I will update this post as it goes.
So far, it's Dolph. He brought up kicker Daniel Murray, who's still feeling the effects of a leg (hip flexor) injury. As far as I know, Murray, a senior, is a the squib kick specialist. He's still not healed enough to boot field goals.
Iowa practiced in Kinnick today because of the high winds.
UPDATES
Ferentz declined to go on the Jim Rome Show in 2002 and thus the spewage from that show toward Iowa. Ferentz not a fan of The Jungle. As far as I know, Ferentz is big on Tony Bruno.
Ferentz is OK if players go on Rome, though. That's what he said.
Set game plan for pulling regulars -- Vandenberg had some medical things going on (back) and that's why Stanzi was in during the fourth.
Ferentz said Iowa is liberal with that. Won't pad stats. Won't preserve a shutout.'
On Nielsen -- Per Ferentz, Nielsen is out the rest of the year, senior year to look ahead. He'll be able to resume his career. I tweeted this earlier today. Also, looks like a 12-week recovery.
On Hunter -- Gaining ground.
On Tarpinian -- Looking better.
On ARob -- Iowa has a lot of guys dinged up, KF said.
_____
Ferentz made a list of his own.
Here's the release from UI sports info:
FERENTZ ON COACH OF THE YEAR WATCH LIST
IOWA CITY, IA -- University of Iowa Football Coach Kirk Ferentz is one of seven coaches who have been put on the official Watch List for the 2010 Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award. The announcement was made by the award's Foundation in Atlanta, GA.
Ferentz is in his 12th year with the Hawkeyes and has guided the 2010 squad to a 6-2 record and a 15th place national ranking in this week's Associated Press poll. He has a career record of 99-78 and still has his current squad in contention for the Big Ten title and possible Rose Bowl berth.
Ferentz has been named Big Ten Coach of the Year three times (2002, 04, 09) and was National Coach of the Year in 2002.
The Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year Award was first given in 1976 when it went to Georgia's Vince Dooley. Iowa's head coach has never won the award.
Ferentz and his 2010 Hawkeyes face the Indiana Hoosiers at Bloomington Saturday (11 a.m. CDT) on the Big Ten Network.
