GARY HOOTMAN Cedar Rapids Gary E. Hootman, 83, of Cedar Rapids, died Saturday, March 7, 2015, at St. Luke's Hospital. Services, with Masonic rites: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Burial: Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday. Survivors include his wife, Jacqueline; three sons, Gary, Richard and Howard; a brother, Ted; and a sister, Beverly Bruce. He also is survived by 16 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and two great-great- grandchildren. Gary was born April 7, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Eugene and Elizabeth Wilson Hootman. He married Jacqueline Dannels on Dec. 9, 1950, in Wapello. Gary worked for many years as an inspection foreman at Link Belt Speeder. He was a member of Mizpah Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his family. A memorial fund has been established.
