Minar, Gary E.
Gary E. Minar, 69, died at his home in Clarence on Monday, April 5, 2010. Services: Thursday, 10:30 a.m. at Chapman Funeral Home in Clarence with Pastor Lynn Butterbrodt officiating. Visitation: 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Clarence Cemetery, with graveside military rites.
Gary was born June 20, 1940 in Linn County, Iowa to parents Stanley and Audrey (Harris) Minar. He married Mavis Browne on May 3, 1963 at Wyoming, Iowa.
Gary is survived by his wife, Mavis; daughter, Roxann (Dean) Pospisil of Mount Vernon; sons, Rex of Clarence, Darrin (Renae) of Le Mars, Brett (Melissa) of Lowden; 13 grandchildren; five stepgrandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.
Gary served in the Air Force for four years and worked for Land O'Lakes Feed in Clarence for 20 years. He was a member of Clarence American Legion and a former EMT in Clarence. Gary loved woodworking and playing pool.
