Gary Arthur Butts, 79, of Cedar Rapids, passed away peacefully in his home on Jan. 19, 2016. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, in the chapel at St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Cedar Rapids. The Rev.
Lloyd Brockmeyer will officiate.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Butts; and stepdaughters, Deb (Jeff) Schebler and Susan (Steve) Webb.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents and a twin brother, Larry.
Gary was born June 23, 1936, in Marengo, Iowa, son of Gerald and Marguerite (Hartz) Butts. He married Mary (Goebel) Wright on July 17, 1986. Gary was employed at Rockwell Collins for 26 years in printed circuit products until he retired.
He loved sports, especially watching NASCAR and the Hawkeyes. Gary was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church since Nov. 18, 1973.
