Henry, Mary Lou
Mary Lou Henry, 68, of Cedar Rapids, died Sunday morning, April 3, 2011, at the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha, following a lengthy illness. Funeral services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Papich-Kuba Janeba Chapel West, 1604 J St. SW, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Randy Kasch. Burial: Czech National Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral chapel.
Mary Lou is survived by three sons, Timothy and Douglas and wife Janet, all of Cedar Rapids, and Michael and fiancee Jocy of Coralville; two grandsons, Nickolas and Matthew Henry; and a sister, Carol Hook and husband Richard of Marion.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Jr. and Helen (Shulista) Sojka; nephew, Jeffrey Wolfe; and dear friend, Mary Ann Pochobradsky.
Mary Lou was born May 31, 1942, in Cedar Rapids, and was a lifelong resident. She had worked as a teller at United State Bank and later was employed by the Cedar Rapids Community School District as an aide to handicapped students on special needs busses. Mary Lou was a Catholic. She was a member of Lodge Prokop Velky 137 C.S.A. and Saint Mary's Society, Czach Catholic Union.
Mary Lou loved visiting with family and friends.
Contribution in Mary Lou's memory may be given to Hospice of Mercy.
