Staab, Charlene F.
Charlene F. Staab, 54, of Vinton, died Sunday, Nov. 29, 2009, at Mercy Medical Center in Cedar Rapids following a brief illness. Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church, with Pastor Clarke E. Frederick officiating. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Van Steenhuyse-Russell Funeral Home and from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Vinton.
Charlene was born Dec. 4, 1954, in Vinton, the daughter of Charles Edward and Mary Katherine Hartgrave Craddock. She was a 1974 graduate of Washington High School in Vinton. On Feb. 10, 1973, Charlene was united in marriage with Jerry Staab in Vinton.
Charlene ran a home daycare in Vinton for over eight years. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Vinton. She enjoyed baking cakes and baseball and football games. Her favorite pastime was caring for her grandchildren and watching their athletic events.
Charlene is survived by her husband, Jerry of Vinton; two sons, Jeremy (Alesha) Staab and Chris (Lisa) Staab, both of Vinton; her father, Charles “Ed” Craddock of Vinton; two brothers, Roger (Val) Craddock and Chuck Craddock, both of Marion; two sisters, Sandy (Kevin) Wright of Cedar Rapids and Karon (Jerry) Ahrenstein of Vinton; and six grandchildren, Josh, Brooklyn, Jace, Brynn, Zach and Violet Staab, all of Vinton.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Craddock; and one brother, Ronny Craddock.
A memorial fund has been established.
