McGowan, Dean
Dean McGowan, 57, died Sunday, Aug. 23, 2009, in his residence following an extended illness. Private graveside services will be held at Big Grove Cemetery, southwest of Vinton. The family will greet friends at their home, 6016 27th Ave., Vinton. Phillips Funeral Home, Vinton, is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy of Vinton; two sons, Mike McGowan of Vinton and Ryan McGowan of Garrison; his mother, Florence McGowan of Vinton; his granddaughter, Taylor McGowan of Dysart; his brother, Keith McGowan of Vinton; his sisters, Shirley (Kevin) Schwartz of Vinton and Janet Moody of Vinton; and many nieces and nephews.
His father preceded him in death on Jan. 25, 1994.
A memorial fund has been established.
