Scott Allen Martin, 51, of Cedar Rapids, died Friday, Oct. 3, 2014, after a short illness. Memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Cedar Memorial Park Chapel of Memories. Paula Meyer, Cedar Memorial Certified celebrant, will officiate. Scott will be inurned in Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery, with his father, Paul, who passed away in 2009. Friends may call at Cedar Memorial Park Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday.
Family includes his wife, Tracey; a son, Colton of Houston, Texas; a daughter, Jenna of Cedar Rapids; and his mother, Donna of Mason City. He also is survived by an aunt, cousins and many, many dear friends.
Scott was born April 9, 1963, in Mason City, the son of Paul and Donna Hansen Martin. He graduated from Mason City High School and attended the University of Iowa until 1988. Scott was a senior sales marketing manager in the heating and cooling supply industry.
Scott had been a Boy Scout and rode dirt bikes in his younger days. More recently he had been an avid boater and enjoyed water skiing and Iowa football games. In 1987, Scott earned the title of Mr. Iowa in body building competition.
Scott's greatest joy was spending time with his friends and beloved family.
He will be greatly missed and his memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
